  • so itchy!

My Dr. had increased my allergy shot to 2x per week after I told her that my arm is itchy and a tiny bump is appearing after last week's shot...

Going to these shots is so time consuming since I have to wait for my turn, and my Dr. is behind schedule 99% of the time.  And after the shots, I have to sit in the office and wait for at least 20-25 minutes to make sure that I've no life threatening reaction.  Oh well, but this is all for my own good.  I just hope that this will help to alleviate my allergy during the spring/summer time (oh....I wish I have the luxury to spend my spring/summer in Vietnam and return to Vancouver during fall).  I miss Vietnam, especially my aunt's family.  I love the people's simplicity and I enjoy hanging out with the little kids.  These children don't spend their time in front of a screen, they actually come and talk to you and ask you to play with them.  Or they simply bombard you with questions after questions.  Having that said, I was being treated like a kid too.  And I quite enjoyed that since I felt so loved.  My aunt and uncle would come to me every 3 hours and asked if I am hungry.  Do I need anything?  Is there enough bottled water in my room (they wouldn't let me to their water even after it's boiled just in case my stomach is not used to it)?  Do I have enough $$ to spend?  etc etc....

ok...time to zzzz...and I shall dream about VN tonight :0)

  • More than a month ago, as I was waiting for my flight from Shanghai to Vancouver, I decided to browse through the bookstore in hope that I can find something interesting and spend all my RMB.  The books were ok, nothing really excites me until I came to the CD session.  I saw many old albums by:  Teresa Tang, Fei Yu Qin (mom's generation), S.H.E., Lin Jun Jie, Jay Chow...etc.  I wanted to buy the Jay Chow one, but I already heard pretty much all the songs in that album already.  And out of the corner on the bottom of the CD shelf, a red album caught my eyes, and my heart was pounding when I saw the people on the album holding instruments, and there are quite a few of them too...so they must be...and YES, it's the "12 Girls Band"!  I first learned about them 6 years ago and I only heard one or two of their songs.  I actually got a cassette tape long time ago of their songs, yet it was broken after I listened to the first song.  They are a a Chinese band compose of 12 ladies who play the different Chinese instruments that include pipa, erhu, guzheng.  When I first heard them, nothing was special, but I guess the more I listen, the more I grow to like the flow of the music and the songs are full of "flavour", "味道".   :0)

  • Here I am again, after more than one year.  This is like..my once a year journaling online.

And of course, many things have happened in life.  People come and people go.  Sigh...I am sad to hear that my aunt's father in law had passed away.  The last time I saw him was 16 years ago in VN.  And I am planning to make a trip back this year (finally)....and yet..he's gone.  He's among the many older generations who have slowly passed away.  People whom I knew once....

Talking about the older generation, it reminds me of the Israelites' in the Bible.  Due to their disobedient, the generation that came out of Egypt directly wasn't allowed to enter the Promised Land except Caleb and Joshua.

This summer, I joined my small group's challenge in trying to finish the Bible in 3 months.  You might think "wow...that's hard core" or "wow...good for you".  But I am ashamed to say that despite being a Christian for so many years, I haven't really read through the whole Bible.  I tried at least 7-8 times before (always starting from Genesis) and the most I got to was Jeremiah (but I did read through NT a while ago).  Nevertheless, I have a new perspective every time when going through the books of OT.  This time, they are very inspiring.  I am thrilled by the fact that I am reading God's Words and reading them in a haste actually gives me a better/overall understand of who He is.  And because of that, I have to say that I am "addicted" to this book call the Bible and am looking forward to reading through it.

By the way, on a random side....I had 2 pieces of walnut coffee cookies today and they are the most delicious cookies I have ever eaten!

  • Time flies....it does....so fast w/o me even noticing it.

Listen.  I have been listening to many ppl talked about their struggles/concerns/dreams/tiredness...all in one day.  Each and everyone of those stories are so unique and they are somehow fascinating.

    Life is interesting....very interesting :0)

    here's an interesting one.....

a flour packer became a grain inspector...later on moved into a lab to be a lab technician...then out of a sudden...became a public speaker who gives seminar on seduction.  huh?  this is so random..
